Yes
Well sort of, more of a fieldtrip around the western US but we seemed to spend most of our time in the vans.

So, the itinery, we started in LA for a couple of days, then headed off to the Owens Valley for some fault and Volcano goodness. After that a few days in Death Valley and then on to Las Vegas before heading back to LA for our flight home. There was some beautiful terrain around and some excellent photo ops, it was just a shame it was an organised trip (well maybe not, I probably would have missed my flight back!:p) so most of the time we were in and out of the vans in ultra quick time and had only minutes at each location to take pictures, usually in harsh light.

So the photos

8. The Salt Pan - I was a little disappointed as I was assuming they would look like archetypal polygonal things you normally see in fields, instead it looked a bit like a plowed field.

11. And a panorama of the Death Valley footwall, 6 shots and probably encompassing about 3-4 miles of the valley (bearing in mind the mountains are around 1800m high) - Bigger version here

13. Sand dunes - Comments on the PP would be appreciated, I had a play with this one, changing it to B&W then overlaying a very transparent colour layer on top.

Any C&C on any of the shots (I know there are a lot) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

really nice shots there, the first 2 lok like they are photo shopped in some sort of computer game feel, really good though
ther rest are just really nice :D

Wow - loving the salt pan one's - such dramatic landscapes. No. 12 is superb... like interlocking fingers :)

Amp comes through once again! Great set; Really like 11 and 12. All are good, esp. considering you were not keepers of your own time.

Waaay too many for me to comment on, but #12 is sticking out like a jewel in a coal mine! Great stuff! :)

Excellent set! 5, 6, 8 and 12 for me! and that final star shot!

Brilliant

Just thought... hope you dont think my previous comment meant the others were carp. I just meant #12 was really really super!

Stonking set Amp. The panoramic shot really appeals to me and would look awesome printed huge and framed on the wall.

Slight flare on 6 on the left hand side which I would edit out, part from that they are all very appealing imo. The processing on 13 doesn't work for me, more the sky isn't looking right but the foreground of it is fine.

3, 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12 are my pic from a splendid set(y)

Thanks, the first one actually looks practically like it did in real life, although the camera couldn't catch it like that so it needed some PP. We all knew America was made of paper mache and CGI didn't we?:p

The scale of everything was huge, the saltpand miles across, the 'hills' 1800m - 3000m high, made for some excellent scenery. Most of those were shot with the 12-24 too, I love that lens.:D

Thanks, I love doing star trail shots, there's something about putting it all together in the end and seeing something, although real, that you wouldn't be able to see with your eyes.

Brilliant

 I knew what you meant, but I was wondering about playing along for a bit.;) Thanks.

Thanks. I would love to get the panorama printed but I think it would have to be huge to really show it like it should be. A friend of mine is getting the Dante's view and another one printed, and i'm going for Zabriski point (no.12) in 18x12 (my first big print) so hopefully they wil come out well.:)

That flare is a bit annoying, I don't think my PP is good enough to get rid of it without making it look a mess though so I decided to just leave it in, I may have a go at it at some point though. :) It's nice to have your input on no.13 too, I think I have a B&W sky version which i'll see about posting up to see if you like that better?
