I have just going through a few more Whipsnade shots
and this caught my eye :D

Falconry birds have 3 main weights
Hunting weight :- will actively hunt
Response weight :- will re-act to the falconer and any opportune quarry
that happens to be close by.
Fat weight :- sod off I'm stuffed and not moving an inch

This however could have been an embarrassing moment that passed without
incident

Assume you mean cos it's at Response Weight Chris... :cautious: ... but, notwithstanding their laid back attitude, surely they'd be far too big and feisty for it even at Hunting...

:p

I tried to photograph one of these once, I just couldn't do it. So well done.

Appreciated (y) there are a couple more in flight images HERE if you're interested

Ven, Patagonian Mara, are fairly timid, small dog sized, Cavies. ( guinea pigs)
And yep the Eagle had to be at "response weight"
:D
