I am hoping you can help me here please mate?

I have a canon MP600 printer attached to my Mac Pro which runs fine, prints Ok etc. I need to share this printer with the wife's laptop which runs Vista... Now here is the problem!

It sees the printer, it connects Ok then asks for the driver which I have, then when you open the print queue in windows it tells that it cannot connect to the printer, access denied.

I have enabled print sharing on my Mac and this doesn't solve it....... Any ideas matey?

I get the same problem when tring to connect via a compaq laptop, But it sometimes connects others times it doesn't
 
As I had a few minutes to spare I'd thought I'd try and sort this problem out.

OK the compaq doesn't connect all the time, but my now retired Dell does. Difference the Dell runs XP Pro and has a password log on. The Compaq doesn't.

Set up compaq with new Admin account with password... Connects and prints????

If you don't have a passworded account, try adding one and see if it works

Did you add a new account with the same log on and password as the Mac.?

Also see if you can tun OFF simple file sharing. Don't know if it's possible on Vista. You can only do it on XP if you have the Pro version

Best of luck, I tried sharing a printer from my Windows PC to the Mac but gave up and ended up just plugging it in via USB just to print what I needed! :thumbs:
