I am looking for opinions on the Calumet Large Lens Gimbal Head CK7075. I have heard mixed reports so would appreciate your opinions please.

Google it. I remember I found some very convincing stuff and I moved on back then.
 
I won one in a competition a few years ago I have one of the kirk king cobras as well. I have been using the Calumet one with my canon 600mm f4 I.s. for probably about 4 years. It's done the Cairngormes numerous times, Poland,Sweden, Cuba to name but a few of the places it's been used and abused. I can only say as I find it's done everything I have asked of it.

I must admit i had read a lot about these heads before i won the one i use and i would not have brought one going by what other people had said. I decided being as i had got it for nothing i would give it a try. Its still working so i'm happy i have found it pans smoothly and adjustments are really good allowing to get good balance with any lens used. I have not noticed any signs of wear in the head.​
