After doing a bit of reading in magazines and online I decided to drag an old image out the closet and have a go at the Orton effect

Not sure of the effect or how it is supposed to look, but to me, the photo appears to suffer from violent JPEG compression. Also, I think a little space ABOVE the hut on the right might work better.

The Orton Effect is named after Michael Orton who first used the technique is a sandwich of two images, one in focus the other out of focus.

I'd like to see the original too, I think.

Not so sure I like the Orton effect...sorry. I probably lack vision, but the original photo seems like one that could be very interesting in B&W.
