I use a BYOB insert in an Osprey Stratos which works for my day kit Canon R7, 70/200 f4, 17-50 f2.8 and 10-18, plus room for food and spare clothing

The camera gear isn't quite as accessible as a dedicated camera bag but it's far more comfortable to wear for longer periods and the trampoline mesh back is great in the warmer weather. Like everything there's always a compromise but if you can try on some dedicated hiking rucksacks to see if they work for you
