Opinions required pleae guys and gals!

I'm looking to travel to the states in the New Year but rather than take all my kit I'm planning on just taking my 50D and 24-105L and spare batteries.

What bag would you recommend? I currently have a Lowepro 200AW which will be too big for my requirements....

I have seen some adverts for a bag that looks a little like a camera 'holster' where you can drop the camera and lens in as a unit for easy retrieval...any body tried these?

Any opinions or suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Rob

well i have just bought a kata dc 443 cam bag from slimbert, and it looks really good judging from reviews, remember while your out and about you might collect little things on the way such as a water bottle which you could fit in a camera bag that has a side mesh compartment, think what you might get instead of what you have already.

Just stick it in a messenger bag if its just a camera with lens attached. Just make sure you don't keep liquid or keys in the same compartment, but wrap it in a T-shirt if you want.

Anybody tried the Crumpler BO xxx range?

When I go out and about with just 1 camera I use Tamrac holster Pro 9.
It takes D200 with grip, 17-55 lens or 18-200 with reversed hood and filters etc.
You can carry on shoulder or at waist level using belt or through rucksac waist strap.
I find this easier and lighter than my stealth reporter.
Lowepro do similar ones but I like the Tamrac, its well padded
