Might seem a strange statement on a photography forum but over the last few years I've become less and less 'interested' with camera bodies.
I understand the difference between various models and obviously appreciate what each have to offer but other than picking up the one that suits my needs - I'm not exactly gripped (see what I did there) by them.
Perhaps I'm just 'mechanically' minded - I really appreciate the smooth workings of a decent tripod head, the gears or the detail in the machining. Lenses too - the movement of a decent zoom or the quality of the glass. Something tangible that you can feel when using them.
It's hard to explain but it's something that I don't really relate to anymore when it comes to the body itself. Obviously I know there's a world of difference between a D40 and a D3 in terms of build quality but I don't really think of DSLRs anymore as being precision tools with moving parts.
I know what I need if buying and I know which body does what but I find myself mulling over them much in the same way that I might contemplate a TV or a Microwave.
Does anybody else feel this way or am I just having a 'ludite' moment.
