I have a rather curious dilemma about colour output
I love the colours from 1Ds II They look very natural, and respond well to processing (LR3)

On the other hand 1D III (or the 40D I had before) just can't quite produce it to match the above. With some effort I can get close-ish but not quite the same. It can be the most obvious in landscape shots and certainly would make little difference for portraits. Oddly, it also doesn't look just as sharp as well - like it had a stronger AA filter. But then it has slightly better AF, fps, better battery, faster X-sync, 6400 ISO (full of noise).

I can't quite explain why that is. After all it is 12bit vs 14bit sensors, not the other way round.

Then, what will the 5DII/III or 1DsIII look alike?

I'm just trying to plan what's next, and what's going.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see some comparisons

Has anyone got any comparisons with 1DsIII or 5DII please? I wonder if replacing 1DIII with 5DII was a terrible idea (for non-sports use!)
