I'm going to Spain next week and wondered if anyone has experience of purchasing camera equipment there. Am i likely to find prices lower there than in the UK? Any advice welcome.

i was over there a month ago for a week (although not purchasing) as i am moving for a long-term job next month.
anyway... i didn't notice the kit being any cheaper at all (Madrid). Certainly not enough to have made me notice - but then i only looked int he windows of a couple of shops and madrid itself is pretty expensive.

With the Euro as strong as it is I think you'll find Spain is no longer a cheap place to shop.

If you are going anywhere near Gibraltar you COULD try there. It's supposed to be duty free but in my experience it's not that cheap and you have to be careful. Shop around (there are several shops in the Main Street) but especially- know what you want, what should be included and what you would pay here! When I was looking for a Nikon 18-200VR on shop tried to sell me a Tamron 18-200. I bought my first DSLR from there and was ripped off a little.
