Evening all

My daughter has hinted that she would like a camera for xmas, but ive already bought all her presents ( well santa has already made them ) so i only have around £100 to spend.
she has got a camera but it is a very basic one and she asked for one with a zoom.

so do you guys have any recommendations ?

I would keep an eye on the fuji refurb site. Often get xf-1 for around the £100 mark and some of the other fuji's with raw capabilities would allow expansion although some of the recent compacts appear to have been delisted on the refurb site. The Fuji EXR modes are good in IMHO also.

I suppose it depends on what she wants to do with the zoom as to exactly what to consider but the £100 mark is now on the cusp of some degree of advanced capabilities in the compact zoom sector.

You've got a couple of months to hang in there for Christmas so worth hanging around for a deal.

Does she want a compact or a interchangeable lens camera?

Doesn't need to be interchangeable.
I was thinking something like a bridge camera but unsure what would be best

The Fuji XF-1 is a great and fun little camera I think it's about £130 in Currys at the moment. Has good image quality and some really good features. With the lens you zoom manually so it gives you a great little DSLR type feel to it, very good in low light. I bought this a month back as I wanted something small for my bike and this was the best camera I found between £100-£200.

I would go for an XF1.

Her indoors has one and just to annoy Jaisus it's RED!!!!! :)
