camera for my parents (Sony rx100?)

Hi guys thinking about getting a Sony rx100 mk1 for my folks Christmas present . Do you think its a good chose for older people (in there 80's) there not technophobes by any means but id like them to be able to enjoy out the box rather than a huge learning curve.
What do you think?

My dad uses mine just fine. There are a couple of fully auto modes that take fantastic pictures.

Thank you mate, they like to travel so it seems like a great option for them. Hopefully they will let me play if I go ahead!
