Hello all.. wasn't too sure where to put this post to be honest. seeing as its the equipment i want to cover.. might be here...

Im going to morrocco soon.. very soon.. and have just realised how poor my home insurance cover is, classing the dslr as a 'set' for up to £250 -.- . I now need to get extra insurance to cover my camera kit.. can anybody suggest a reputable company that offers this one off service??

many thanks in advance... quick replies would be muuuch apreciated as im packing the case as we speak :)

Photoguard for me (soon)

They cover items bought from ebay and abroad too, not just UK and brand new items

Ive been covered by both and both paid out full price.

Castlegate claim was for over £23k and had money in the bank 11 days later.

Yes I pay more then my car insurance but ..... you get what you pay for and it is well worth the price to me.

Word of mouth is always tops in my book

Infocus are the only ones I could find that insure as "all risks contents". They don't, for example, have time limits on locked in the boot and was told that as long as you take "reasonable precautions" you were covered. The specific example I had was leaving cameras in a locked hotel room. Infocus were the only ones who viewed this as a "reasonable precaution". Some of the other companies only effectively seemed to insure them whilst they were on your person or at home... Whether or not I would get a quick payout if I ever had to claim - I don't know and I hope not to have to find out....
 
Might be worth getting some decent contents insurance at home? That will cover your camera gear plus anything else you have that's valuable.

We have cover with Hiscox which is very comprehensive and is much better cover than you get with a normal home policy.
