I've just had a similar experience.
I saw a bloke walking past the house with a pair of skis slung over his shoulder, so I grab the camera and hurtle upstairs to get a shot from the upstairs window, checking settings as I go. I get upstairs, bring the camera to my eye to shoot and ........ black. The lens cap was still on. By the time I got the cap off he had disappeared around the corner.
time to get that point and shoot
Nice capture Andy.
I would have been even more gutted if my guy was actually on skis, but someone walking down a snow covered street with skis on his shoulder is not something you see often in southern England.
What on earth was a bus doing driving on the street?
I wish I had my camera to hand a couple of days ago.
i was woken up at 4.30am by the sound of my wife using her digital camera to take photos out of the window. Just outside were 2 foxes play fighting in the snow!
Sadly, her compact - nice though it is - wasn't really up to the job.
What I didn't tell you is that whilst I was busy admiring this capture on my camera's LCD screen and scrutinising the histogram, *a bus came zooming by the junction at the end of the street and knocked him 20 feet into the air !!!

But then the record of the moment, good or bad, dies with you.
Such is Life...
But then, is a bad photograph worth keeping?
I thought you said you got the shot!!!!![]()
