Camera noise

Hi all I've just noticed that my 60d makes a noise for a few seconds after half pressing or fully pressing the shutter. It lasts for 2-3 seconds and sound like a small electric motor. Now I've only had it for about 9 months but I've never noticed it before, I'm a bit concerned that something has gone wrong with it. It's got a very very low shutter count so its hardly used really? Anyone got any ideas or am I just be daft about it and just never noticed something that's meant to happen.

It sounds like the Image Stabilisation on the lens which is a normal sound, what lens are you using?
 
It's a canon 24-105 L Lens. Maybe I'm just in a very quiet environment. It's runs on its own for a few seconds after the shot or after just focussing.
 
Sorted! Yes it was that turned it off an no noise then back on and the same noise. Must just have been in a very quiet environment to what I've shot in before.

Thanks for the help, was a bit concerned at one stage something was wrong with it.
