Camera/Photography Clubs

I was having a mooch about to consider a local one

but they all seem to pack up shop next month

Is this a local phenomenon or is there a perfectly valid reason why they all finish in the spring and kick off again in September? :shrug:

PS if there are any members here of Evesham or Worcestershire clubs - wassitlike???

it does read pages no longer updated so might be last years times just give one a ring im sure they probally are open every week

Next month does seem a bit on the early side. Ours packs up at the end of June for the summer break.

This is our last week. A couple early due to double bookings in the new venue but from what I gather, most up here finish April/May and start again in the September.

A lot of members will be away over the course of the summer so it's often easier to take the summer off as attendance will be unpredictable. Also tricky to book judges for competitions for the same reason.

the one im a member of runs all year, and meets every week, its only a small club approx 50 members, perhaps I just landed lucky

My club in Preston runs from September to mid-May but we have plenty of outings arranged for the summer so that we keep in touch and keep the cameras active. Anyone looking to join a club now I'd encourage them to do it just to meet a few new faces then if you like it then you may be able to keep in touch over the summer and join in September.
