camera raw help please

hi folks,

first off, i apologise if this is a dumbass question, but i'm a bit stuck and could do with some advice.

at present, i open my raw files in canon's digital photo professional software and then transfer to photoshop from there.

however, i read that many people use adobe bridge to process the raw image????

i have the adobe premium cs3 suite and any advice on how to open/process camera raw files with this would be most welcome.

You could just use the Camera RAW to open them directly into photoshop.

I import all my files into bridge... delete the crap, then you can double click on the ones you want to edit, then they should open in photoshop, in the camera RAW dialogue, then you make your adjustments, then hit open and the image then opens into photoshop as you were

on the few times I use RAW I just open them using the PS RAW (adobe camera RAW?) convertor and edit from there.

ACR , Adobe Camera Raw, which is part of Photoshop is a very powerful image processing application. (Don't confuse powerful with difficult.) It's much better than DPP and has more controls and is very easy to use. It's the same engine that Lightroom uses

You've probably got the default program for 'Raw' files set to the canon software - to open in bridge try right clicking on a raw file and pick 'open with' then click 'Adobe Bridge' or 'Adobe CS3' this should open into the raw converter.
