Evening and and chapettes!

I have a question for you all. I have here my dads old Mirande Sensomat RE film SLR body. It's faulty, with the film advance lever stuck and the shutter release stuck also. Now, I am in the mind to get it repaired, but I don't know of any repair companies. This is where all your knowledge and wisdom comes into play :D

Would very much appreciate any thoughts you have :)

Cheers!

The last couple of pages in Amature Photographer has a few camera repair centers in.
Sorry i cant be any more help.
Dean:)

My 450D is currently at these people (referred to by Canon). They've apparently been around for years and fix film and digital.
I'm yet to find out what there service is like but if you send it to them they will look at it and give you a quote before they start work.

I used Colchester Camera Repairs for a warantee fix on my 40D, they were first class, camera was back within a week.Top service.

Please note, this camera is coming up 40 years old...

Anyway, I found what the problem was! It was the spring pushing the ratchet onto the gears for the advance lever. Re-tensioned the spring and now the whole thing works again! I buggered up the ISO potentiometer inside, but that's easy enough to calibrate along side my D700 if I take it apart again.

There is another problem however, and that is the exposure timing. It's all messed up, and fixing that in a service will cost a fortune... So I think I'm going to wait untill I have more money to burn before getting it fully serviced.

Shame... But in the mean time I might invest in an old 50 prime and an FM2n or something similar.

Many thanks to all who replied though :)
