Pretty much what most people expected.
There is little relationship between Photographs taken and camera sales.
Non camera devices like phones are first choice for taking photographs by many people.
We should expect sales of basic compacts to continue to fall.
there is a partial switch from DSLR to Mirrorless among non specialist photographers, with some opting for Both.
I have the impression that non interchangeable high end compacts, that echo mirrorless style, function and quality are on the increase. But quite where they sit in the above diagrams is not entirely clear.

Nothing new here, it surmises that reflex (and mirrorless?) has remained the same and compact sales have gone down. It states it expects a slight increase in sales of "reflex" cameras between 15/16 though it doesn't state why.

Pretty much to be expected.

Even though we have excellent enthusiast compacts now their sales won't increase the compact sector significantly as their market is established photographers (who probably own other kit too) rather than the traditional happy snapper the compact market used to be aimed at.

Those happy snappers were never interested in cameras or even dare I say photography as a hobby, which is why they now use telephones.
