camera service charges

[steunited]

emailed Lehmanns yesterday to see what a service would cost for my 1d mk3 and had a reply saying a basic service would be £220 inc vat.
i don't know if its just me but is this quite expensive,my car doesn't even cost that much.
are canon elstree any cheaper or is this normally what you would expect to pay?

In fairness working on cars you've got a lot less fiddly small parts to work on (I know, I sell Porsches for a living).

looking at the canon elstree site it seems that they do a dslr service for £80
