Camera Servicing/Repairs

Hello guys,

I recently acquired an Olympus OM-1n kit with 3 lenses, a matched multiplier and a load of lenses. Been cleaning the dust from every where and playing with all the mechanics. It looks much better without the dust. Everything seemed to be workinng OK (didn't test the light meter) and I loaded it with film (ISO 200) this afternoon.

The shutter was getting stuck when I tried to slip the film along with the lever. Once loaded, the shutter was set at 1/125 but it acts more like <1/10 despite me fiddling with the shutter speed (and ASA, and timer, and aperture, and everything I could think of).. I feel quite sad about it since it seemed to be working find earlier.

I wonder if I was too harsh with the camera whilst loading the film altho I didn't force anything...

Could someone kindly advise about:
1) What is wrong?
2) Where would be a good place to service the camera in London/Essex?
3) How much I should aim to pay for servicing?

It seems getting the OM-1n was a bit more expensive than getting a Minolta SRT-101 in the short/long term. But I have an OM10 so hence the decision..

It will most likely depend on the fault and what parts are needed as to how much it will cost to repair. I have an OM1n sitting in a box in the loft which hasn't been used in 30 years, but it still works perfectly. It might be best to remove the film an try again, or try it without film to see if that sorts the problem. Sorry I can't be of more help.
