Camera split ring options

Are there any options for a quick release attachment instead of the usual split ring for attaching a neck strap?

I want to easily/quickly take the strap off including the split rings

Has it got to be a neck strap or have you considered a sling type strap. I've got a couple of Q straps and they make it very comfortable for carrying the camera for a long time and they have a small carabiner for quick release. They are pretty reasonable with prices too. I can't think I've seen anything I would consider safe enough to attach to the strap lug.
