Yes
I've recently got a good deal on a Canon 600D but it came without a strap.
For the time being I'll use the one on the 1000D until I find a suitable one.
The Canon strap on Amazon seems over priced at £24.
I can't remember the name of the one I used years ago with a 50D but it wasy very comfortable around my neck even with a 100-400L lens attached to it.
At the time the strap was very popular here but my old brain is failing me.

I use Black Rapid Cross Shot with my 70-200, but the Peak Design Slide is a popular choice too (there is a newer version out and some places still selling old version).

I get the originals used on ebay for about £2.99 from alldigital shop. It would have come with a used one anyway.

I've just done a search for the seller on ebay but they don't seem to exist?

I used to use Op-tech straps for decades before getting a Black Rapid.

The Op-tech ones are IMO very good including their various attachment & connection systems.

I have never used a camera maker branded strap and see as carrying free advertising for the manfucturer! Note ~ yes the camera in and of itself is an advert ;)

Now I think about it, I thinks it was an Op-tech that I used previously.
I've ordered a cheap Canon one from ebay so it will do for now.

The sling type ones are so much better for long days out with a camera. I don't regret for one moment getting a sling over a 'round the neck' type. I found that any lens other than the kit lens or a pancake/short lens tilts the camera forward so it never hung straight anyway - plus it spreads the load.

Think mine is a JOBY one.

I also bought the tether strap which gives extra protection if you've not done the screw up tight enough as I read all these reviews saying that their camera had come unscrewed and smashed their lens, but that must have been user error as whenever I need to unscrew it, it's not easy to do.

The only downside is that you have to unscrew it if you're using a tripod, but I rarely use a tripod so it works for me.

You could always do what Kai from YouTube has done in the past, and fit a Nikon, Olympus or Pentax strap on your Canon camera to annoy the 'matching hat and bag' brigade! :D

I must admit, I did briefly have a Pentax wide neoprene strap on a Canon EOS 35mm SLR (as it came without a strap and it was all I'd got spare) but it started to annoy me, so I spent £2.50 on a used and fairly discrete Canon one from that eBay seller!

Joking aside, some 'third party' aftermarket straps can have fairly big rings, clips and buckles on them, which can wear away the finish on the camera if they rub against it, so do watch out for that if choosing a strap. I made that mistake years ago with one of my cameras, and never again!
