Hi,

I currently use the Q strap which is pretty good however securing to a single point worries me from time to time - I use the plate option. Also I find it wandering off my shoulder a lot which can be a bit annoying.

I have considered the Black Rapid RS-7 as I understand its more comfortable but the connector worries me a little, plus the price is quite high and again no safety backup

Ah, the expected max load may help too - a 5D3 (currently no grip) with Sigma 50-500 OS - so quite heavy.

I also use a hand strap as thats my preferred method of holding it when I take images.

So I'm looking for any suggestions that may help.

I have a Q strap and a Black Rapid. The RS-7 is much more comfortable than the Q-Strap and I find it does not slip as much. The connector is very strong. I have not used it with a really heavy lens but have used it gripped with my Nikon 70-300 and it was very comfortable.

Thank you, presumably as its a similar design having a hand strap will not get in the way either.

I don't suppose you looked at the RS-4 when choosing did you as I'm curious about they way they are adjusted.

Black Rapid RS7 for me as well John although my 5DMKIII is gripped with a hand strap too... I have a little 'safety line' attached just in case that's made from a bit of bootlace. :)

lol, why didn't I think of that!!!

Mind me asking what hand strap?

Also wheres the best place to get a RS strap, almost £60 seems like there should be cheaper somewhere.

I've got the Hama handstrap from Amazon 'cos I'm too tight to pay thirty quid for the genuine Canon version! :D

I got the Black Rapid as a Christmas present but I'd guess that Amazon's worth a look :)

hehe, I know what you mean, mines a Micnova (ebay job), speaking of ebay I may get one from HK - £45.80, so a bit cheaper and feedback from buyers seems good.

Sorry to be honest I bought the RS-7 on a bit of a whim from the forum classifieds.

Cool, no worries - I dug a bit more and it looks like the Black Rapid RS-Sport Strap is the one for me - that under arm (Brad Pit!) strap should keep it where I want it and apparently its a little more comfy than the 7.

So in hope I've put up a wanted add... well you never know!

Edit: Ordered from Amazon :)
