Camera takes ages to boot up?

Hi there,

The camera in question is a Nikon D3200. Upon turn on, it's showing a timer glass for about a minute before the display screen appears. Doesn't always do it, but it never used to?

Any suggestions?

is that with a card in it or without a card? hows the battery in it ? try it without a card in it and no lens if its still the same i would re set it back to default

The clock battery is a non-user-replaceable component in the D3200 (according to Google), maybe someone with Nikon experience can confirm whether or not this could be caused by that failing. It's certainly the sort of symptom where I'd try replacing the clock battery if it was easily done.

That's with the card inside and the battery is new, this would be it's second full charge - i'll try a system reset and report back!

Interesting, however the camera is only about a month or so old, would it be possible to fail that quickly?

In that case, stop faffing about for answers on the forum and get it in under warranty! Are you still in the return/replace period?
