Camera upgrade advice

I'm a novice photographer currently using a fujifilm hs20exr but wanting to upgrade to a dslr I've narrowed it down to canon or Nikon lol
Been looking at theese models Nikon d3200 and the d5100 also the canon d600
Will I see a difference to what I'm using now

sorry yes i was looking at the 650 too im getting mixed up a bit lol

so from my bridge camera will i see alot of difference in quality with one of the above mentioned
 
what lens do i go for, for general shooting and i like to macro shoot too
 
you'll get faster responses & the camera has the inate ability to do more than your current one but you'll need to think more about your shots & do more processing yourself.
 
Buy the camera with the 18-55IS, it's a good lens optically and more than enough for a beginner.

You should get body and kit for around your budget.
 
I have a 600d and am extremely pleased with it with magic lantern firmware on it
The kit lens was ok ish but I soon changed it for the efs17-55 f2.8 which was more than the camera lol
a good cheap canon lens is the efs 55-250 if you want some more reach

Odds are, a Nikon user will say the 5100, a Canon user will say the 600D.

I haven't used the D5100, but have used other Nikons and found them all very good (except the D40, but that is another story).

Canon are the market leader, and one of the reasons for that is the fact they make decent cameras. I really don't think you could go wrong with a 600D and kit lens. It is capable of stunning results.
 
The 600D is a great camera, looking around you can get it from around £500 that leaves almost £100 for a nifty fifty that is a great prime lens or a Raynox 250 macro attachment. On the other hand £620 gets you a grey import Canon 650D, with 5fps, better AF system, and touch screen. No a clue about Nikon.
 
going by the DPreview EOS forum the only real benefit of the 650 over the 600 comes in video.
If you think that video isn't important to you then get a 600D & spend the saving on glass.

Personally I would probably buy a Nikon over the Canons but that's me & I'm not you ;)
 
still carnt decide theres too much choice whcih is the better the nikon 5100 or the canon eos 600d sorry for the questions
 
The better one is whatever one appeals to you for whatever reason. Nobody other than you can know that.
Both cameras will give great results, have vast choice of lens for the future etc,. and in the big scheme of things doesn't make much difference which one you pick.

It does all depend how particular you are though. I for example don't care about menu systems (as long as it has one), I don't care about button placement for key settings (again as long as it has them) and I am not even fussed about how it is to hold as I can get used to all these things in a few hours. DSLRs to me are much of a muchness.
You however may feel passionately about these things.
 
It is great you nailed down to two cameras, now you can pour over the specs and carry on comparing for ever because the differences are minimal or do the sensible thing, go down to a shop and physically check them. See how they feel in your hand and the ease using buttons and menus, you will feel amazed how quickly you find the one for you.

Um, no. There are some big improvements "under the hood" that are far more important. For example, the 650D adds a new AF system including all cross type sensors, and it now has a DIGIC 5 processor and offers higher ISO and faster continuous shooting (from 3.xfps to 5fps).

a lot more than video...

I got a 650D with kit lens for the wife recently from www.panamoz.com for under £600. I have a 60D and the 650D certainly gives that a run for the money. The 650D touchscreen is really responsive and the high ISO ability is fantastic. The AF system is great on it too, fast and very accurate from the all cross points. The 60D though, for me, is better because of the ergonomics. The 2 screens and rear dial make it easier to use IMO.
 
hi again so ive found the 600d for £453 with a 18-55 lens what lens would you reccomend to give it a bump ?

If that's new, I might suspect scam or HK supplier with you taking responsibility if there is a tax/duty liability, it's slightly under even the cheapest UK suppliers like DigitalRev with grey stock but UK cover.

Who is the supplier?

good pick choosing the Canon system, they make some good cams and some cracking lenses :) having said that I suppose Nikon does too ;)

where abouts in Co Durham are you ?
