hi i currently have a canon 60d but im thinking about getting a new camera.i take pics of all sorts of things rallying/surfing/landscapes a bit of a mixed bag.
i would like a canon 7dmk2 but its out of my price range so i have been looking at the canon 70d.is the 70d much better than the 60d im after a better auto focus system
and better image quality so is the canon 70d the obvious upgrade..

A friend just upgraded, I don't know if that's true but he is saying the AF system is considerably better, there are few other differences but not as noticeabe, he was quite happy with his choice to upgrade.
 
its the af system and better iso handling that i want realy.i do like my 60d but its time for an upgrade.

And are you selling the 60D to fund the new body ?

The new AF system on the 70D is a step up from the 60D - see if there are any users of the 70D on here that are near to you, see if they fancy a coffee and let you have a trial of their 70D ???

The 70D has a better AF system than the 60D. More cross-type points, more customisation options.

I don't think it will do anything for you in terms of image quality though. What are your issues with image quality? What lens(es) are you using? It might be that upgrading your lens(es) would be more cost effective than upgrading your camera...
 
andy i will probably sell the 60d after i get a new camera.i dont realy now anybody local to me i might have to nip into jessops see if i can have a play with one.

i have a sigma 70-200 f/2.8 os also a sigma 17-50 f/2.8 a sigma 150-500 and a 50mm f/1.8 and a canon 10-18mm. im after better low light performance and better af system i have had a read on the 70d owners thread and from what i read on there
it should do me for what i need.

cant realy afford the 7d mk2 i would love to have one but its £1200.00 quid at hdew and £600.00 for the 70d.i dont make money out of photography if i did i would get the 7d mk2 without hesitation..

I would, just to make sure it's what you're after, even though as previous posts have said the AF is an improvement.

You could look at certain sites that do trade ins - possibly won't get as much as selling it yourself, but then no hassle of doing so.
