Hi

If i buy a secondhand camera that is only a month old does the warranty transfer over to me as the new owner

Not sure about Canon, but Nikon warranties, despite what some sellers will tell you, are not transferable.
 
I would guess the short answer is no.

Of course that is totally unfair to you as a consumer, and it may well be that the original owner would put in a claim for you if anything went wrong with it.

That may well be technically illegal, but I can't imagine anyone with an ounce of compassion thinking it was wrong on moral grounds.
 
If the guarantee hasn't been registered, and you have the original receipt, how is anyone going to know that you were not the original purchaser?
 
Hmmm, there is no invoice as it was a work incentive and I have emailed him to ask if the warranty has been filled in yet

The tricky part comes when you're trying to explain why you're getting it shipped back to an address 200 miles from that on the purchase receipt and that you've changed your name....:lol:

I was, just a humble jeweller now

I'm getting the feeling they arnt transferable

Kerso has them for £675 and the difference is not that great really
