i am currently doing the institute of photography diploma. I am really enjoying the course so far, and have learnt quite a lot from it. I am at module 3, which looks at the grey card and creating zone rulers, dynamic range etc. I fully understand the creating of the zone ruler, i'e the zones, highlights and shadows, however i do i find out whether my camera "prefers highlights to shadows by looking at the zone ruler. As i look at it once i have found zone 5 (middle grey) then i can go three stops either way to acheive either 0 or 255
