M going to cuba in febuary and thinking of taking the camera, any advice on how to make sure the camera is ok over there, people have said its a wet heat and the humidty might wreck the camera, i have a 7d, 17-40 L and a sigma 70-200mk2 macro....... All with hota pro1 uv filters...... Help and advice welcomed :-)
 
Isn't the 7D weather sealed? If that's the case I would have thought it would be fine, although the camera might need a bit of time to acclimatise when you first arrive because if you step off a cool plane, into a hot environment then it would probably cause condenstation so not a good idea to use it straight away!

And I'm sure your L lens would be sealed too, but I can't vouch for the Sigma.

So its best to get it outside first before using it type of thing??? I just dont want to get it ruined whilst im away i fear that the most?!!
 
there are a few threads bout humidity on here and I'm going cancun, mexico in feb. basically keep it in the camera bag while in your room then when your outside leave it for 10-15 mins to get to temp and don't wipe the condensation as it will smear. or if you can leave it on the balcony if safe to do so.

Ok, its insured ne way so thats the main thing, just dont want it to get broken! Lol
