Depends. If it's a slot loading drive, i.e. MacBook, iMac, MacBook Pro the as ruvor said, no it will not work.
If it's a tray loading drive, i.e. PowerMac or Mac Pro then yes you can use them. If you got a slot loader then it might be worth investing in a cheap external drive if you're going to be transferring a lot of footage
