Yes
I have a Lencarta Flash Light kit & was wondering if I could fire these using
an invertor from my 12v power point in my car.

Has any done this successfully?

Are there any risks involved either to the lights or the car?

I would assume that it would be safer to leave the car running.

The lights are the 200g jobbies.

You'd need to get an inverter that is more powerful than the lights, but yes.

E.g. If the flashes use a max of 600W, buy a 800W inverter and you'll be golden. You want a little overhead so its not working at full power constantly.

I've seen guys on sites at work running kettles off them, although it is wired directly to the battery. You'll find looking at them you can only draw so much power from the 12V cigarette adapter. After that its either using the jump leads to connect it or getting an auto-electrician to wire it up to a useful spot in the car.

If its a higher wattage, you would be safer keeping the car idling as they can drain the battery quickly.

Thanks Martyp, I will check the light power & take it from there
