Can Any One Spot Whats Wrong

Stating that by paying by paypal would cost the buyer - therefore by sending cheque it would save the buyer money?
Cant see anything else wrong

apart from puy insteads of buy I cant see anything else

could be any number of reasons - including needing it to do a specific job - no matter how amateur! And just because they are an amateur doesnt mean they cant/dont buy the most expensive lenses. I mean... what would happen if Sir Alan Sugar went on Safari and wanted the best of the best to get the most from his amateur skills?

sorry

i just thought any one who would have a lens like this would know what he is doing which would not be classed as a amatuer ?

even if not making any money these sort of lenses are for the advanced user aint they in which case there not amatuers on a generally speaking

I have a very expensive lens and am an amatuer, along with many others on here.

Don`t get the point..........

define amateur and professional.

Some world class sportsmen are classed as amateur because they don't get paid.

i thought they would be classed more as semi pro's then amatuer

i always thought amatuer means basic begginer

i under stand points of view im sure this subject has been covered some where on here before

i suppose the only thing i can say is it's a diffrence in opinion some who does sport's photography and doesnt get paid but is good at there work are between pro and semi promore semi i suppose and a pro would be paid and be good at there work not always the case

and amatuer would be novice or working up from novice

everyone still learns so aint we all amatuers and because we get paid we are then classed as pro

that makes no sense really

It should of been, BUY!

yay! I win  what do i get for winning

The cost of the lens is irrelevant to whether they are amateur, semi pro or pro

the terms amateur, semi pro and pro only refer to whether the person gets paid for what they do. amateurs don't, semi-pro do but its not their main income and pro gets paid as a main job. You could easily be a pro with a £300 lens and an amateur with a £10k lens makes no difference, it also depends what you shoot

fair comments

will leave the subject at that before a war starts:lol::lol::lol:

Your not semi pro or professional because of what you own. You are based on what you can do with it.

If you owned a space shuttle you wouldnt call yourself an astonaught.

Just in case, and FYI:

Amateur (in this context)
a person who engages in a study, sport, or other activity for pleasure rather than for financial benefit or professional reasons. Compare professional.

Professional (in this context)
Adjective: following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain.
Noun: a person who earns a living in a sport or other occupation frequently engaged in by amateurs
