I go to alot of music concerts and obviously because I am far away I am struggling to get descent photos I have at the moment a fuji finepix a900 which has a good zoom but when I take the photo's they just come out dark and it doesnt matter what I do it doesnt seem to make any difference. Im not very camera wise so I dont know if im actually using the camera properly.
I am looking to buy a better camera for this reason can anyone suggest any thing that is compact and cheapish round about the £100 mark or am in just hoping.....

Thanks for reading..

Not for £100 multiply that figure by five and you might stand a chance.. if you were serious about it I would recommend adding a zero!

I'm afraid you are. Music venues are probably one of the most difficult palces to get decent photos. Changing, and low, levels of light, people moving, funny coloured lighting...

If you're on a budget I'd look at bigger cameras such as the canon G11, Lumix LX3, and similar. You won't be able to get anything near £100, you'll be looking more at £400 - £600. Don't be tempted to get a DSLR because someone tells you it's "better" - get something you can use and understand.

Ok, so the answer is an expensive DSLR and a long lens... which of course they won't let you take into the concert.

Seriously, you won't get decent pictures of a top class act as a member of the audience.

So don't even try, just enjoy the concert and be one less person that hacks me off by holding your camera above your head firing the flash for the entire gig whilst I stand there thinking "you are annoying and you aren't even going to get a decent shot!"

:bat:

Spend your hundred quid on another concert ticket is my advice.
