Can anyone help with my printer?

Hi guys.
I've got a cheapy Epson printer, a Stylus S20 and it has some kind of issue.
It say that the installed ink cartridge isn't recognised, and won't print.

BUT,

it's the genuine Epson cartridge that came with the printer
Only had it since 09/07/09
and haven't needed to change the cartridges yet!

does it try to print? Does the head move across? If not, then is there a comms issue with the PC to printer? If the head is moving then it could be a blocked head or something....

It would still be under warranty yep.

It doesn't even attempt to print. There's a constant light on, on the printer next to the power button, which has a ! with a circle round it.

also - can you print a test page form Windows, not from within an application

Try taking the Cartridge out and putting it back in again, if that doesnt work Epson after sales are very good.

Nope.
Just get an error message saying the black cartridge cannot be recognized.....
