I had another look at your images and now i'm pretty sure it's a violet ground beetle (Carabus violaceus, purpurlöpare) It has the violet edges like your's and the four lower palps

Whatever it is, it's still a type of ground beetle though...isn't it?

Only asking, as I'm interested and have come across these myself many times.

Ground beetles can be difficult to identify from photos as you have to look for things like notches in the front tibia then thorax shape as well as other features with the use of a key the one I am using at uni at the moment is 4 pages of a4 and covers about 20 or so beetles.
but it looks like Carabus violaceus, purpurlöpare as already suggested

I would also say a violet ground beetle. (Carabus violatious) Fantastic piccys.
