Can anyone identify this lens?

Hi everyone,

Looking through my old film lenses and found this.

Nikon Nikkor 50mm 3300403 1:1.8

I couldn't find anything online for it.

So two questions ...

1. Would this still hold any resell value? I've no idea if its classic or not, other than its properly ancient.

2. I tried it on my old school film Nikon F50 and it wouldn't focus or meter. I take it this wouldn't work on a D90 or D7000 etc?

According to the serial number this is the spec of the lens so "properly ancient" = 30 years old. My OH has still got hers from her film days but no idea of of value.

It obviously won't auto focus but all I can suggest is try it on the cameras.

It is a manual focus ai or ais lens. They go for about 50 quid on eBay.

It's the ais version of the 50/1.8. You can tell by the two orange minimum aperture figures.

AIS definitely. Would work fine on the D90 and D7000. The F50 was a bit crippled when it came to compatibility with old lenses.
