Looking to mount my 7D to my handlebars for some timelapse shots and also for some HD video shots. My handlebars are 31.8.

Can someone reccomend me a cheap clamp which will work. I don't particularly want to have to mount a head onto the setup (but I spose if i have to i will).

I was looking at the Manfrotto 035X Super Clamp but its 250g. Thats alot of weight for me to carry around. I'm thinking otherwise of making something myself, but at the moment am avoiding that.
Also it's $$$. This is only an experiment at the moment.

Will try to film only on smooth roads and with a suspension fork to limit the vibrations. Just need a thread to secure the camera to.

Any ideas?
 
Yes. That looks like what I need. I spose I'll need to mount a mini ball head or something onto that?

I spose I can just get away with a threaded spigot. Thanks for the advice. Ordered!
 
No it doesn't really no. But it's not really that important unless you are changing shot. If you are cycling for instance and set aperture at F8 you don't tend to have problems.
