As title states i am looking for a bag that is able to carry 2 light heads, 2 stands and the leads that go with them. Can anyone recommend one that won't cost me a fortune? Looking ideally at about £25-£75.

go to a sports shop and buy a cricket holdall.

I'd keep your heads and stands seperate if I were you and you want them to last!

Lencarta 3 head bag (will leave you room for accessories and cables etc
Lencarta Stand Bag holds my stands and brollies.

Hi Ed,

I have the stand bag from Lencarta but i really don't want to be lugging more bags than i need to. A mate of mine has the Bowens 500 kit and all his gear fits nicely into one bag. I might actually just buy the same Bowens bag. Not sure if it can be bought on it's own right enough.

Hi scottduffy.

I would be cautious about buying a huge one with the aim to carry everything. Ed’s advice about keeping heads and legs separate is good advice and usually easier to achieve with two separate bags. It's easier for storing the kit, car transportation and moving it around on location, than it is having everything in one big heavy bag. Splitting the weight across two bags makes carrying easier and if I have to move my kit any distance I use a lightweight wheeled luggage trolley with the two bags upright and secured with a bungee. Something else worth bearing in mind is that you will probably need to transport additional bits of kit for your lighting setup. For example, I also take: mains extension cables, multi socket block, rolls of lighting scrim and lighting gels, black drape, shower curtain, gaffer tape, black-wrap, light-meter, radio trigger kit, etc. My experience is that it’s a lot easier to distribute all this additional stuff across the two bags, than trying to put even more in the one big bag.
I hope this info is useful – Good luck

defo 2 seperate bags I have witnessed a tragic end to my friends Elinchrom D-lite2's after he put them in the boot of his car in a single bag, when we got to the shoot he had a nice bag of bits, repairable but still.... best avoided

My D-Lites came with bags. One for the lights and one for the stands. What would be nice is a bag to put them both in. (aimed at Elinchrom)

Your friend must be a bad driver or he did not put them securely in the boot.

There are lots of hold alls on the market but as you will find out, if you mention a photo name, the price shoots up.

Check the strobist website for ideas on cheap baggage, those guys are tight as a ducks *
