Can anyone supply any info on this lens?

I was given this lens (photos below) by a very generous friend who thought it might work on my Nikon D3000. Unfortunately it does not but when I tried to return it to him he refused point blank and told me to do whatever I want with it as it is no use to him. The problem is I don't know what to do with it because, apart from the brand name Polar/80-200mm, I know nothing about it, age, value, type of camera it fits, nothing! Google searches have returned nothing of any help to me so I'll turn it over to you guys and your infinite knowledge! Any info will be gratefully received.

As a Polar, it's probably essentially a re-badged Vivitar or something of that ilk.

AFAIK, the name is currently owned by Samyang, who have been making some interesting manual focus lenses under the Polar/Vivitar/Samyang names of late.

I'd take a guess that the OM mark at the end of the aperture scale indicates it's an Olympus OM fit.

edit: did I spot a 'Macro' label somewhere on the barrel? It may be a variant of the Albinar ADG 80-200 f/3.9 macro MC

There's a lot of badge engineering going on at that end of the market.

Looks identical to a Vivitar I have, definately OM fit, as above get an OM body and have some fun.
