Can full frame lenses be used with crop sensor cameras?

I have a nikon D3200 and can N type lenses be used on it?

Yes FX lenses will work on a D3200. Just be careful the lens you are thinking of has a built in motor.

A lot of the older lenses do not.

Some yes. If its a AF-S It will work fine with autofocus if its a AF-D or AF it won't auto focus. AF-S are mostly the new Nikon Lenses.

Full frame lenses can be used on DX Body's

But you can't use DX lenses on FX Body's in FX mode.

But they will still work in Manual Focus

what do you mean by N type lens ? the original N type was pre ai , and could damage the body

He means the Lenses with a N symbol on them like the 24-70 / 70-200mm 300mm f/2.8 pro lenses like that
