Can I Do This in Photoshop?

Not sure if I'm in the right forum, but since it's not strictly PP, here I am...

Am trying to replicate the image below, but am totally useless when it comes to this kind of thing in Photoshop; been cursing for nearly a week now and getting nowhere fast!

Would it be easier using some other program? (which probably means learning that from scratch as well!) Ideas on a postcard please... Grrrrr.....

That image looks vector based so I'd probably recommend using Adobe Illustrator for it. Unless you need the image to be scaled up to huge sizes however, Photoshop would be fine too - some reading up on the pen tool, masks & using smooth gradients would help massively with this.

Basically, either program would work - if the design is only for a logo, etc then photoshop would be fine. If the image needs to look flawless at any size then Illustrator is the way to go

Make sure to place everything on separate layers - the circles at the base on one layer, the sim on another, etc.

Have a look at this tutorial to ease you into some of the required techniques - maybe feather a bit less for sharper edges on your gradients

Thanks - it wouldn't have to be very big - the largest size probably around 25% of an A4 sheet... I'm guessing I only really need to create half of the image then just flip/join to create as shown....

yes u can as said
a glossy sphere tutorial to make the figures....i guess u call them that....u only need to make one sphere.....duplicate is make it smaller n pop it on top of the bigger one.....then merge them together.....u can make different coloured ones with adjust hue/saturation

the block in the middle is just a glossy web button

the logo underneath is just made of circles flat, then transform/perspective to give the feeling of depth
the very backgound is with to an aqua green gradiant

not a huge amount of work......depending on your skill level ofcourse
