I got myself an Epson XP 970 and some Marrutt Gloss paper as I liked the richness of the black (I mainly do b&w) and on using a custom Marrutt ICC profile via Soft Proofing in Affinity Photo, I noticed a red cast with washed out blacks as if gamma had been reduced. I cannot correct the depth of blacks without going out of gamut, though the main issue is removing this red cast as the image would look as it should.
I've tried using different soft proof modes and they make some difference but trying to alter RGB channels seperatly hasn't yeild any results and neither has using curves on master/RGB channels, white balance adjustments, HSL adjustments etc.
In colour my adjustments look bang on. I will try some matte and luster but I'd really like some of these prints in gloss.
Any ideas?
