Hi all,

I am getting the sigma 120-300 2.8 OS, and plan to fit a 1.4x to it.

Will the canon 1.4x mkiii fit and work ok?

And would thid canon extender give better results than the sigma 1.4x dg ex one? Its quite a bit more pricey but the guy in my local camera store thinks that the canon provides a huge improvement over the sigma.

Thanks

Don't know about the differences between Canon & Sigma 1.4 TC's, but I have a Canon III 2X and the Sigma 2X and to be honest you are hard pressed to see the difference in IQ between them. I acquired the Canon III with the lens, but I certainly don't think it is worth the extra cash for the marginal improvement if I was buying one.

Thank you for the reply. I have still not made up my mind whether to go for the sigma or cannon mkiii 1.4x TC.

The extra cost of the cannon is a factor, so am leaning towards the sigma.
