Because I've just fitted my gripped D90 to a Manfrotto 496RC2 head and 055XPROB legs, lifted the centre column and I'm too short to see through the viewfinder 
Seriously though, this is one serious setup, rock steady and very well built, can't wait to put it to the test in the field! Only downside is that it doesn't come with a bag as standard.
Wasn't sure if the weight was going to be a problem, but i'm not one for trekking far with my camera gear so for me it just adds to the stability.
