Can you stop me from buying a carbon tripod for £110?

I have a good quality light weight tripod, and i find it too light that it moves so might as well shoot hand held.

Carbon (or any lightweight) tripods are a daft idea IMO

Unless you have to carry it any great distance. In which case, weigh it down with a bag of rocks or something similar.

If it's going to stay in a studio though, that's another matter!

those ebay ones are exact rippofs of the gitzos, but probably without the build quality

Don't do it :shake:

Really? When you carry them a reasonable distance i.e. onto the beach very early in the morning/late at night etc, then they are worth more than they're weight in gold.

I had a heavy tripod and it just stayed at home and got occasional use in the garden.

Redsnapper tripods have a decent size spung loaded hook on the bottom of the centre column which I have hung my photo bag on to weight it down. Worked a treat last week in high winds taking shots of the moon with a 50D, 100-400 lens and 2X convertor.

:plusone:

why carry extra weight in a tripod when you can just hang you kit bag off the bottom. works for me  The RS carbon tripod isn't exactly featherweight anyway, especially with the ball head.

I like the irony in that sentence! (although you meant their).
