Hi all
Apologies if this is in the wrong section.
I was looking at the possibility of purchasing the new 100-400 canon lens and also fortunate to be in a position to by in Japan as I work out in Asia and have done for over 6 years now.
I had a quick look at the duty free section at Narita airport and noted they have these for sale at 270,000¥ which is about £1395 at current exchange rates.
Before all the comments of import taxes and all that rubbish start flooding in, please note that anything I buy out there is used out there and I'm not importing into the UK even though I live there.
So given I didn't have time to go enquire about the lens the questions are;
Has anyone bought whilst in Japan?
Is it a local warranty only?
Is this a good price or would you consider Panaomaz instead for their warranty?
