Canon 1.4 EX II Extender

Hi all, anyone use one of these with a Canon 70-200 f4 non IS?
Just bought the 70-200 and it's a stunning lens, just thinking of maybe for a time when I need a bit more reach, I know it increases the lens by another stop, but what's the general opinion on this kit?

Oh yes, I would like to know this too. Or with the 70-200 f/4 IS.
Not interested in the outcome with the f/2.8 because I know that works well!

I have the 1.4x & 70-200mm IS combo. Works very well. I haven't noticed any effect on the image quality when using the 1.4x.

I've used it extensively with the 70-200 F4 IS, have a look at my flickr, a lot of my motorsport photos are done with that combo, it is great, AF speed is only marginally affected and IQ is very similar with or without.

I used it on the 70-200 F4 and thought it was rather good- the only thing is that being 5.6 you can only really use it on a sunny day.

Not trying to hijack the OP's thread, but I'm also considering the 200L f/2.8 as at £700 it's fast (non-zoom) and could potentially be used with a 2x extender (or 1.4x at f/4)

It takes a 1.4 tc very well, here is a shot I took with the combo just a few weeks ago while on holiday.
