Hi I have the 1.4 ex mk2 is the mk3 worthy of a upgrade to go with my 300 2.8 ,600f4 mk2.

The way I understand it with the Canon mk3 extenders is that were designed for the mkii lenses for optimum advantage such as 300 f2.8 mkii, 100-400 mkii, 400 f2.8 mkii, 500 f4 mkii, 600 f4 mkii so yes I believe there are advantages particularly in IQ and AF. I can certainly vouch for a significant improvement on the 100-400 mkii lens using the mk3 extender over the mk2 as I used both on that lens. As for the others, I can only pass on what I was told by people I know that have the other mkii lenses and their opinion is that the mk3 is a step forward and worth the upgrade.
Hope this helps.

Can you try out the MKIII for yourself - why not see if someone local to you has the MKIII and see if you can trial it and do your own real world test, and actually see if you can notice a difference ?

I believe the MKIII version is an improvement over the MKII if you are using the newest lenses as Chris says, but don't know by how much / if it is worth the outlay - obviously, you could sell your MKII which would reduce the outlay and potentially make it a minimal upgrade cost...

Be interred to see the results, if you do manage to try the new MKIII over the MKII :)

Probably the best idea, a test on your own lens will allow the comparison and you can then judge the results for yourself which is always the best option as people's opinions can only guide you but the definitive answer always lies with your own judgement imo.
