Hi all in the Market for a 1D???

Choice I have full frame lens

So 1Ds ?? or go 1/3 with a 1DII

Or a 1D III

Would like to stick to full frame

Any thoughts

Not sure how much this will help as i am not sure what you mainly photograph. I have a 5D11 and a 1DIII and although I have only had the 1D a few weeks I am already finding big differences.
After using full frame I found the 1.3 crop quite odd and I lost my instinctive close up framing of shots. On the plus side the extra reach is useful sometimes! I think both are wonderful cameras and have different qualities. If you want full frame then the 5D2 is a no brainer, if you need super fast AF and high shutter rate then its the 1D.

I love both my 1D and 5D bodies.

Were I to pick just one over the other then it would have to be the 1D for me. FF is nice when you need 16mm to be just that but the 1D is my shoot anything body. Now that the 1D4 has better low light capabilities than the 5D2 I would take my 1D4 ahead of the 5D2. I also prefer the ergonomics of the 1D series. It really also depends on what and how you shoot too I suppose.

1Ds2 or 1D3 are good choices for a bit over 1k, the older ones are a bit out of date now. Ds is probably a more natural choice. The D is a high speed sports and events version if that is your thing.
Weathersealing and AF are wonderful in these cameras. So is weight.
 
I chose a 1DsII over a 5DII for build quality and AF accuracy. It's a wonderful beast once you're used to the menu system.
 
Thanks everyone makes a big difference when weighing up the pros and cons of a different body, will absorb this info and make a choice.
